About Our Council
Through the vision of Brother Frank Skillman, Rev. Christopher
Fritter, O.P., and District Deputy John Andrada the Knights of
Columbus formed a council within the city of Benicia. Council 7268 was
chartered on March 8, 1979 with it's name chosen to honor the first
pastor of St. Dominic's Church in Benicia, Fr. Vilarrasa. Frank
Skillman served as the Charter Grand Knight and the Charter Chaplin
was Rev. Christopher Fritter, O.P., pastor of St. Dominic's.
In it's history, the Fr. Vilarrasa council has been awarded Star
Council 4 times for the following Columbia years; 1997-1998,
1998-1999, 2003-2004 and 2004-2005. The Council has participated in
the California State MR Drive every year since it began 1988 raising
funds for people with Mental Retardation in the Southern Solano
Community.
