How did we come by our chapter name, St Monica, as she is not a Dominican? St. Monica was a mother who prayed constantly with tears and holy longing for the conversion of her son. Her prayers were answered and the Church has benefited from her prayers to this day. Her son is St Augustine who stands by St Thomas Aquinas as two of the greatest teachers of the Church, and from whom we take our Rule. Our chapter chose her as we pray for the conversion of our own families.
